Filling Option Form – Risks & Opportunities

The concept of option form was introduced to avoid lengthy and controversial admission processes. The scheme of option form puts a practical limit in turn lot of responsibility on the candidate’s part to choose wisely.

Option Form - Opportunities

- Creates Focus and brings seriousness to the process. As candidate has limited options to select he will take a realistic view of his or her CET score and chance of getting into a particular college.

- One can have permutations and combinations of college/s & branch/es though limited in number.

- Compulsory options make sure that next round has less students vying for seats available.

- It limits the number of undecided candidates.

- It ensures and promotes positive decision making reducing the duration of admission process.

Option Form – Risks
- Candidates have to think twice before entering compulsory options.

- Candidates also have to think clearly for non-compulsory options.

- A bird in a bush is like twice in a hand – one has to apply proper judgment to take or forfeit seat allotted from non-compulsory options.

- One has to make sure that first option is always better than the second. Many times candidates fill the option form casually and repent later.

- Filling option forms for later rounds when number of options increase may become tiresome.
