Oil India Limited (OIL) is a premier
National oil company, engaged in the business of Exploration,
Production and
Transportation of Crude Oil and Natural Gas. Oil India
Limited is a "Schedule A" company under the Ministry
of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.
Exploration & Development : OIL's systematic and scientific
approach to exploration has been rewarded with a very high
success ratio of sixty five percent of the exploratory
wells drilled.
Drilling & Workover Services : Over 1000 wells, more
than 3.5 million metres, have been drilled in varying surface
and sub-surface environments including high underground
pressures and temperature conditions and the depth of the
well varied from 1000 m to as deep as over 5500 m.
Production Services : Company has accumulated over a hundred
years of experience in the field of oil and gas production,
since the discovery of Digboi oilfield in 1889.
Reservoir Management : Introduced by the Company for the
first time in India way back in early seventies, simulation
has been used as an important tool for management planning,
production forecasting and decision making.
Pipeline : Pioneer in field of crude oil transportation
in southeast Asia, owns and operates a 1432 kilometer long
cross country crude oil pipeline.
Research & Development : OIL's significant R&D
achievements include, thermal conditioning of oil for pipeline
transportation of OIL's waxy crude, polymer flooding.
