M. Tech in Electronics Design and Technology

The M. Tech course is design oriented with nearly two thirds of the 24 months spent on learning by practical work. M. Tech project is an extremely important component of the course. One third of the credits for the M. Tech programme are assigned for the project.

Duration : 24 months starting on 1 August every year. Announcement for admission is published in prominent newspapers during the beginning of February every year.

Annual intake : 20 students with up to 30% sponsored candidates from industry. Additional candidates from the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) are also admitted.

Eligibility : Sponsored candidates: a) (i) BE in any branch of engineering or (ii) M Sc (Electronics) with at least two years of relevant experience and (b) Sponsorship by the industry.

Fresh graduates :

• BE or M Sc (Electronics) with at least two years of relevant experience
• Qualification in GATE.

M.E in Microelectronics

CEDT started an M E programme in Microelectronics in 1997 jointly with the ECE department. The focus of the course is on VLSI design.

Duration : 24 months Annual intake: 10

Eligibility : BE/B Tech in Electrical, Electronics and communication, Computer Science with knowledge in DSP or B Sc followed by AMIETE / AMIE in Electronics and communication and qualification in GATE
